PARKER POSEY plays a movie star named Jennifer Jolie, who portrays Gale Weathers' character in "Stab 3." Posey's one of the legions of movie fans who really likes being scared. "I like the idea of going into a theater and releasing my fears," says Posey. "It feels great to scream, especially in the dark with other people."
Posey was named Queen of Indies by "Time" magazine, a reference to her many roles in independent films. She has appeared in over 25 films in the last six years, including "The House of Yes," directed by Mark Waters, for which she received a Special Jury Prize in 1997 at the Sundance Film Festival; "Waiting for Guffman," directed by Christopher Guest; "The Daytrippers," directed by Greg Mottola; "Party Girl," directed by Daisy Von Sherler Mayer; "Sleep with Me," directed by Rory Kelly; "Dazed and Confused" and "Suburbia," both directed by Richard Linklater; and "You've Got Mail," directed by Nora Ephron. She was also featured in three films for Hal Hartley: "Amateur," "Flirt," and "Henry Fool." Parker made her Broadway debut in spring 2000 starring opposite Matthew Broderick in Elaine May's "Taller Than a Dwarf."
